Maoists should follow process of dialogue, says CPI-M

Kolkata: The Maoists should follow proper procedure for negotiating with the government and establish a congenial environment before participating in any kind of dialogue, the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) said Sunday.

“The Maoists should discuss their issues with the union government through a process of dialogue. They must follow the procedure which the union Home Ministry has offered to them,” CPI-M’s West Bengal secretary Biman Bose told reporters here.

“They should first create a congenial environment before participating in any talks with the government,” he said.

Bose said the Left-wing ultras, who were carrying out massive violence mainly in three western districts of the state, should send their proposals to the central government.

“Their proposals can only be properly addressed if they submit these to the right place,” he added.

Maoists are active in three western districts of West Bengal – Bankura, Purulia and West Midnapore.
