JD-U joins SP, RJD to protest women’s bill

New Delhi, March 8 (IANS) Janata Dal-United (JD-U) MPs, led by Sharad Yadav, joined the Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) to stall the Lok Sabha for the third time Monday over the Women’s Reservation Bill.

Soon after the house assembled at 2.00 p.m., Samajwadi leader Mulayam Singh Yadav and RJD president Lalu Prasad and their MPs walked up to the speaker’s podium shouting slogans. JD-U MPs led by Sharad Yadav joined them.

Lalu Prasad and Mulayam Singh asked Deputy Speaker Karia Munda stop the proceedings. Munda’s effort to pacify the MPs did not yield results, leading to the adjournment of the house till 3.00 p.m.
