Washington : US President Barack Obama will nominate ex-Army general Robert Harding to head the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Xinhua reported.
Harding’s expertise will make him a “tremendous asset in our ongoing efforts to bolster security and screening measures at our airports”, a White House statement Monday quoted Obama as saying.
Harding served as director of operations at the Defence Intelligence Agency in the 1990s.
TSA was created after the 9/11 terror attacks in 2001, but the Obama administration was unable to find a chief for the agency.
