Mumbai : Over 100 Japanese products are on display at a four-day exhibition ‘Feel Japan Style in India’, which opened here Friday to the cherry blossom dance by renowned Japanese classical performer Yuri Shirahane.
The expo in which 14 leading Japanese brands are participating, has been organised by Japan’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, with the intention of providing Indian consumers an experiential interface with Japanese products.
For the purpose, a sprawling, modern apartment has been created and decorated with the latest Japanese products and conveniences, latest gadgets, home appliances and grooming accessories, enabling the visitors get a first-hand, on-hand experience.
The participating Japanese brands are Canon, Toshiba, Nissin, Panasonic, Muji, Tata DOCOMO, Lion, Shisheido, Toyota, Pigeon, Benesse, INAX, OMI Brotherhood, Solanoveil and Nissan.
Present on the occasion were Tetsuya Watanabe, the director (Asia & Pacific division) of the ministry, Tamon Mochida, consul-general in Mumbai and Takezo Yanagida, executive vice-president of Jetro in India.
