New Delhi : State-run Power Grid Corp Wednesday said it will invest Rs.5,777 crore ($1.27 billion) in various projects, covering Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
The company is investing Rs.4672.99 crore ($1.03 billion) in the transmission system of 1,000 MW Rihand super thermal power project in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh and another project at Vindhyachal in the same state, according to a statement.
Power Grid will also pump in Rs.965.58 crore ($215 million) in the northern regional transmission strengthening scheme and Rs.138.58 crore ($30 million) towards the 500 MW prototype fast breeder reactor at Kalpakkam in Chennai, the company statement said.
