New Delhi : Islamic scholars, writers and academics from different parts of the world will be attending a three-day International Seminar on the Holy Quran, planned by the Arabic Department of Kerala University at Thiruvananthapuram from April 29.
The focus of the seminar would be the status of Quranic Arabic language in the knowledge era from a different perspective, according to A Nizarudeen, Head of the Department of Arabic in the university.
Some main themes of presentations and debates would be ‘language of Quran’, ‘aesthetics and style’, ‘interpretations of the text in different ages’,’Quran and science’, ‘attempts of additions and distortions’, ‘Quranic calligraphy and printing’ and ‘cyber version and online Quran’, PTI reported.
Islamic experts, academics, theologians, interpreters, translators, linguists, researchers and publishers would be attending the sessions.
Renowned scholars who have agreed to make presentations included Yusuf al-Qaradawi from Egypt and other internationally reputed orator on Islam.
There would be participants from various Indian universities and also from such renowned seat of Islamic learning like Al Azar University in Egypt.
There would also be representations from Islamic bodies like All India Muslim Personal Law Bord.
Apart from presentation and deliberation of papers, there would be public talks, open forum, Quran recitation, inter-university quiz competition and exhibition.
