Mumbai: Mahela Jayawardene will lead the Kings XI Punjab against Mumbai Indians Tuesday in absence of their regular captain Kumar Sangakkara.
Sangakkara was banned for one match because of the team’s failure to maintain the over-rate in three successive matches. Their last offence came against Kolkata Knight Riders Saturday.
Sangakkara was also fined $50,000 and each player in the team $20,000.
Kings XI Punjab are lagging at the bottom of the table with just one win in six matches.
