Patna : The mother of a Mumbai terror attack victim has filed a complaint in a Bihar court against two villagers for allegedly cheating her of the compensation paid to her.
Sajida Khatoon’s 35-year-old son Mohammad Mukhtar was killed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai in the November 2008 attack. Mukhtar was one of the nine people from Bihar killed in the mayhem.
Khatoon, a resident of Kakrar village in Sheikpura district, said in her complaint filed Tuesday that she was entitled to get Rs.16 lakh as compensation, a district court official said Wednesday.
She alleged that two villagers — Mokhtar Alam and Md. Ajmal — forcefully obtained her thumb impression on documents and took away the amount.
She also accused Alam of fraudulently taking away a job in the railways offered to the next of kin of the victims. The matter came to light after she sought information under the right to information from the railways.
Ten Pakistani terrorists sneaked into Mumbai by the sea Nov 26, 2008 and went on a killing spree, leaving 166 Indians and foreigners dead.
