By IANS,

New Delhi : Guess who Shashi Tharoor, the 54-year-old MP from Thiruvananthapuram, is connecting with these days?

They are children on Twitter, the micro-blogging site.

Replying to a message posted by six-year-old Rishi, former minister of state (MoS) for external affairs Tharoor said: “Wow, you must be the youngest tweeter who’s ever written to me! Have a great time at school!”

Tharoor was last in news for the Indian Premier League (IPL) controversy. He resigned April 14 as minister of state after he was accused of political impropriety for taking undue interest in the new team franchises of the lucrative IPL.

A couple of more youngsters followed suit to say ‘Hi’ to their MP and they too got a response.

“I am perhaps the 2nd youngest prsn (person) to tweet u..I am in 9th & I am reading ur (your) book D gr8 indian novel..(The Great Indian Novel) and it is awesome :),” posted Sambhavi, another follower, on Twitter.

“Hey how are you doing???….i m your biggest supporter and i have always liked your views and ideas!! waise i m in class 10th,” posted Zohaib.

Tharoor welcomed the young tweeters, replying: “Welcome to @zohaib971994 @TheShambhavi and all the other youngsters on Twitter. Good luck in your studies!”
