32 more dengue cases found in Delhi

New Delhi : The national capital reported 32 dengue cases Wednesday, taking the total number of people affected by the mosquito-borne disease in the national capital to 5,869, an official said.

The disease is, however, now on the decline as the temperatures in the capital region are dipping gradually with the oncoming winter, an official of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) said.

Eight people have succumbed to dengue in the city this year, according to the MCD.

But Delhi saw a rise in the number of chikungunya cases. While 43 cases of chikungunya have so far been reported, only seven such cases surfaced during the corresponding period last year.
