New Delhi : A Pakistani described as a commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen group was arrested after a gunfight in the Indian capital, police said Monday.
Abdullah Inqulabi, 35, was caught after a brief firefight around 9.30 p.m. Sunday in Hauz Khas area of south Delhi, a police officer told IANS. “He fired at us and tried to escape, but was caught after half hour.”
Inqulabi was earlier active in Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said the man was being interrogated by the Special Cell. A revolver and cartridges were recovered from the arrested man.
