New Delhi : India has placed restrictions on dealing with Israeli Defense companies, said Defense Minister A. K. Antony Wednesday in New Delhi.
“Irregularities in respect of some Israeli Defense companies have come to notice and appropriate restrictions have been placed on dealing with these companies,” said Antony in a written reply in Rajya Sabha (Upper House of Indian Parliament) here today.
According to an official release, he said that procurement of Defense equipment and weapon systems are done from various indigenous as well as foreign sources, including Israel, in accordance with the provisions of Defense Procurement Procedure.
The said Procedure contains stringent provisions aimed at ensuring the highest degree of probity, public accountability, transparency and safeguarding the integrity of the Indian Defence procurement process, said Antony.
