Delhi Traffic Police issues CWG advisory

New Delhi : Delhi traffic police have made elaborate arrangements for the movement of spectators for the Oct 3 opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, it said Friday.

The restrictions on the movement of traffic will start from 6 a.m. and continue till midnight at Bhishma Pitama Marg from Lodhi Road to Kotla Mubarakpur; and from 2 p.m. till midnight from Safdarjung to Lodhi Road flyover, Jawarharlal Nehru Stadium Marg-Mehar Chand Market to Lala Lajpat Rai Marg and MTNL Building road-Scope Complex Chowk to Kushak Nallah.

There will be restrictions on traffic from 2.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. from Noida turning flyover to Ring Road-Nizamuddin T-point, and from Bhairon Road T-point to Ashram.

From 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., the restrictions will apply from Ring Road to Bhairon Road T-point, and NH-24 between Ring Road-Nizamuddin T-point to Noida turning flyover.

“There is no parking for spectators in the vicinity of Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium for the opening ceremony of Commonwealth Games. The spectators coming for this ceremony are advised to take public transport to reach the venue of the ceremony,” said a traffic police official.

The traffic advisory mentioned that the Delhi Transport Corporation will provide focal point buses from 31 locations in Delhi and NCR to facilitate the movement of spectators from different parts of Delhi and the NCR.
