‘Trinamool’s West Midnapore rally will spread violence, unrest’

By IANS,

Kolkata: West Bengal’s ruling Left Front chairman Biman Bose Sunday launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress, describing its rally Wednesday at West Midnapore as “a part of its agenda of spreading violence and unrest”.

“Wherever the Trinamool Congress goes, it carries the message of violence and terror. The scheduled meeting of Trinamool Congress at West Midnapore Oct 6 is only a extended part of their agenda of spreading violence and unrest,” Bose said here.

The Trinamool Congress is scheduled to hold a rally at West Midnapore district to counter Left Front’s rally led by Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhhattacharjee there Saturday.

Trinamool Congress supremo and Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee had ridiculed the Left Front rally at West Midnapore, saying “they don’t have guts to hold a rally at (Maoist-affected) Lalgarh (area of West Midnapore)”.

Reacting to Banejee’s comments, Bose said: “The rally organized by Left Front was so big that it was impossible to organise it at Lalgarh because Lalgarh doesn’t have such a big place. But Trinamool Congress rally at Lalgarh was not big at all most of the people in the rally were outsiders from other districts of the state. There was no active participation from the locals of Lalgarh.”

Banerjee had held a rally at Lalgarh in August.
