Patna : A case has been registered against Bihar Minister for Agriculture Renu Kumari Thursday for violating ban on assembly of five or more people imposed by Madhepura district administration ahead of the assembly polls, police said.
A police complaint was lodged against Kumari in Murliganj police station in the district for holding a public meeting without permission and violating the ban order imposed under section 144 of the Indian Penal Code.
In the last two days, police have lodged several cases against leaders, including legislators and ministers, for violating the model code of conduct.
A police complaint was lodged Wednesday against Bihar Minister for Rural Works Brishen Patel. He was charged with sinking a hand pump with a sticker of his name on it in his Vaishali assembly constituency in Vaishali district.
The assembly polls are scheduled to be held in six phases from Oct 21 to Nov 20. Counting of votes is tio start Nov 24.
