New Delhi : Praveen K. Tripathi, a 1977 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s principal secretary since 2006, was Saturday appointed Delhi’s new chief secretary.
According to officials, he will take charge Monday. He succeeds Rakesh Mehta, who was appointed the state election commissioner Thursday.
Tripathi also served as the chief executive officer of the Delhi Jal Board, besides being rgw Delhi government’s commissioner of sales tax.
Prior to his appointment as the principal secretary to Dikshit, he served in the information and broadcasting ministry as the joint secretary.
Tripathi is currently holding additional charge of the finance secretary in the Delhi government.
