Islamabad : Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Tuesday said Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is a “sensible and saner” person who wants to resolve all issues between the two countries.
Gilani made the remarks in response to a question by a senior official of the 94th national management course, Pakistan’s APP news agency reported.
Gilani said Singh had expressed several times during their meeting that he wanted to do “something really positive” for both countries.
He said the Indian prime minister was highly desirous of resolving the important issues, including Kashmir. Singh also expressed his views to fight the common enemies of poverty, hunger and unemployment, Gilani said.
The Pakistani leader said he had met Singh four times officially – Colombo in 2008, Sharm el-Sheikh 2009, Bhutan 2010 and India 2011 – and met unofficially several times on different occasions.
