Boycott French goods over burqa ban, says group

By IANS,

Aligarh : An Aligarh-based NGO has urged Indians to boycott French goods to protest the ban on the burqa in France.

The Forum for Muslim Studies and Analysis has submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, saying the ban violated both human rights and women’s rights.

The memorandum has urged New Delhi to suspend imports from France — and called upon Indians to boycott French goods.

“Forcing a woman to show her face is not only against human rights but also vulgar,” said the group’s general secretary, Jasim Mohammad.
