Ranchi : The Jharkhand vigilance bureau Thursday arrested a district transport officer of Giridih district while accepting Rs.10,000 as a bribe, an official said.
The vigilance bureau laid a trap on the information provided by Raju Khan, a bus owner. “My bus was seized by the DTO. I had shown all the papers but the DTO demanded Rs.10,000 to release my bus. A vigilance team arrested DTO while accepting the money,” Khan told reporters.
A vigilance bureau official said: “Neerak Kumar Singh, district transport officer (DTO) of Giridih, was arrested while taking bribe of Rs.10,000.”
