New Delhi : Four people, including a woman, have been arrested for assaulting and robbing a French national here, police said Monday.
“Meenu Malhotra, 36, Naresh Kumar, 22, Yash Kumar 25 and Amit Kumar, 20, were arrested from different parts of north Delhi Sunday,” said a senior police officer.
The arrests came on a complaint filed by Sebastien Marcaillou, staying at Park Hotel in Connaught Place.
Marcaillou told police that Malhotra, known to him as Sarika Choudhary, was his friend for last five years and he had even stayed at her house in Friends Colony area during his last visit to India.
The time, he reached Delhi Saturday and telephoned her.
“She came to the hotel and persuaded him to come for a ride in her car. She drove him to an isolated place where he noticed three people on bike were following them,” said the officer.
Malhotra then slowed down and the three forcefully got into the car and began beating up Marcailou. “They robbed him of 200 euros and all his other belongings and threw him out at a deserted place,” said the officer.
During interrogation, Malhotra told the police she wanted to earn quick money and hit on a plan of robbing all her friends, with the help of three associates.
