Srinagar, India : Demonstrations were held in Central Kashmir on Friday to denounce repression in Bahrain and in solidarity with the current Islamic uprisings sweeping the Arab Middle East and North Africa.
Thousands of people, chanting slogans in support of valiant people of Bahrain and against Arab monarchs, joined a procession in Budgam town after Friday prayers.
The procession, led by Anjuman-e-Sharie Shiayan president Agha Syed Hassan Al-Mosavi, began from Budgam Imambargah and culminated at towns Central Square in the afternoon, reports said.
Addressing the gathering Agha Hassan, who is also a senior leader of Hurriyat Conference, said despite attempts by global imperialism the struggle of Arab people for their rights will reach to its logical conclusion.
He expressed outrage at the reports of brutal repression in Bahrain unleashed there by occupying Saudi forces and desecration of holy places of Muslims like mosques and Imambargahs there.
Agha praised the Bahraiani people for defeating designs of Imperialistic forces who are trying to divert their legitimate struggle by sowing the seeds of discord.
He lauded the role of Islamic Republic for supporting the oppressed people of the region saying Iran was the only country left which is lending moral support to the struggling people of the Arab world especially Palestinians and Bahrainis.
