Quake hits sea near Japan’s Honshu island

Beijing : An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale Monday jolted the sea area off the south coast of Japan’s Honshu island, Xinhua reported.

According to the China Earthquake Networks Centre, the quake hit at 10.58 p.m. (Beijing time).

The quake’s epicentre, with a depth of 20 km, was initially determined to be at 34.7 degrees north latitude and 138.6 degrees east longitude.
