New Delhi : Rajasthan did not get its full share of water from the Okhla Barrage last year because of pilferage by Haryana farmers. Minister of State for Water Resources Vincent H. Pala said Monday.
Pala told the Rajya Sabha in a written statement that according to the Upper Yamuna River Board, Haryana farmers lifted the river water between July and September 2010 with authorization.
He quoted the Haryana government as saying that all pumps drawing water illegally had been shut down and “all pipes are being removed”.
