Anna supporters take out marches in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad : Braving incessant rains, hundreds of people of the Ghaziabad area took out marches Tuesday in support of the anti-corruption crusade of social activist Anna Hazare.

The residents of Vaishai and Vasundhara and Janakpuri in Sahibabad areas of Trans-Hindon colonies undertook road marches.

Social activists of the city took out a march from Ambedkar Park in Navyug market to the collectorate and submitted a memorandum, addressed to President Pratibha Patil to the city magistrate. Ashok Nagar, the organizer, said: “We have demanded the president intervene in the matter since the government has committed an illegality in asking the Delhi Police to arrest Anna Hazare.”

The social activists undertook the march in different parts of the city including Vijay Nagar, Kot Gaon, MMH College and crossing at Holy Child School. At Holy Child crossing, the social activists lit candles and shouted slogans against the government.

In addition to these organizations the Rashtriya Sainik Sansthan under took a march in the city from Mohan Nagar to Shaheed Smark and appealed to the public to participate in the call by Anna Hazare.
