Shimla : More support poured in Wednesday in Himachal Pradesh for the anti-graft crusade of social activist Anna Hazare.
A number of bar associations, including the Shimla Bar Association, staged protests across the state while lawyers abstained from work.
Activists of the Anti-Terrorist Front also organised demonstrations here. They marched to the main town while carrying placards and banners in support of Hazare.
The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) staged demonstrations across the state. Former Congress minister Vijai Singh Mankotia, who recently formed the Himachal Jan Mahasangram Parishad, a non-political forum, also came out in support of Hazare’s campaign for a strong Lokpal Bill.
“I ask all sections of society, including political leaders, to come and join the banner to fight against corruption, unemployment and inflation, the issues that touch the common man,” Mankotia said while addressing reporters in Dharamsala.
