New Delhi : President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Thursday conveyed their greetings to the nation on the eve of Navroz, the Parsi New Year.
In her Navroz message, Patil said: “May the year ahead bring happiness, joy and fulfillment to our people, and instill pride in our composite culture and pluralistic society.”
In his message, the prime minister said that Navroz symbolises new beginnings and is traditionally considered to be a harbinger of peace and prosperity.
“May the occasion bring well-being and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood in our society,” Manmohan Singh said in his message.
Vice President Hamid Ansari also greeted the nation, saying: “Navroj marks the beginning of the Parsi New Year and symbolizes the composite culture of our country.”
“It reflects the spirit of fraternity and compassion among citizens of India,” he said.
