New Delhi : Kiran Bedi, a team Anna member, Wednesday said the Jan Lokpal bill was the cause of every Indian and there was no reason why the government should not pass it.
“This is the cause of every Indian today, why should it not be passed?” Bedi told a TV channel. “We have the right to have an honest India and the right to our own belief.”
Bedi said: “To a common man, corruption has also become a very vital issue and the government should pass the Lokpal bill. The benefit of the Lokpal to the common man would be just like the Right to Information (RTI).”
Terming the bill a ‘citizen’s charter’, the former IPS officer said: “We are urging the government to pass the bill in the benefit of the common man.”
Hazare, 74, has been fasting since Aug 16 to demand a strong anti-graft bill.
