Beijing : An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale jolted Tibet Thursday, authorities said.
The earthquake struck Ngari prefecture at 11:51 a.m., according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter was at a depth of 10 km, reported Xinhua.
The US Geological Survey, however, said the earthquake measured 5.1 on the Richter scale.
