London: The British supreme court Friday said it would consider an appeal by WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange against his extradition to Sweden.
Seven judges would hear the case in February, BBC reported.
The 40-year-old Assange, who remains on conditional bail in Britain, is wanted by Sweden over allegations of sexual assault.
The Australian national had denied the allegations, saying they are politically motivated.
The high court earlier approved his extradition but Assange termed the decision unlawful.
Swedish authorities are seeking to put him on trial for the alleged rape of a woman and “sexually molesting and coercing” another in Stockholm in August 2010.
The WikiLeaks website published a mass of material from leaked US diplomatic cables, embarrassing several governments. Bradley Manning, a US army analyst suspected of leaking the documents, faces 22 charges of obtaining and distributing government secrets.
