Muslim League to hold conference for merger of INL

Kozhikode: The Muslim League will organize a big conference for the merger of the Indian National League (Siraj Sait group) with the party. The decision was taken in the Muslim League working committee meeting held yesterday in Kozhikode. Only election-related matters were reportedly discussed in the meeting, leaving aside other controversies.

The League will hold a rally in Kozhikode on March 6, as part of the campaign against the failure of the LDF government and the leftist conspiracy. Foot marches will be held in the Panchayat and municipal levels on February 26 and 27. Family get-togethers will be organized on March 9, 10 and 11 in the Panchayat, municipal and ward levels on the topic ‘Development, harmony and social justice’. The working committee entrusted party president Hyderali Shihab Thangal to form the Parliamentary Board to supervise the party in the Assembly elections. The Board will decide the candidates and other details for the election.

Meanwhile, INL national general secretary Siraj Ibrahim Sait welcomed the Muslim League working committee decision approving the merger of the INL with the League, according to reports. The dream of the late leaders Ibrahim Sulaiman Sait and Panakkad Syed Muhammedali Shihab Thangal are being realized by the merger. He also reportedly congratulated all those who worked for the blossoming of their dreams which was the unity of the community’s political sections.

The working committee did not reportedly discuss other important and controversial issues in the current political situations in Kerala, including the new revelations in the ice-cream parlour sex scam. Party president said in his initial address that only those matters related to election should be discussed and that other matters could be discussed later. The state secretariat had met in the executive hall in the League House before the working committee meeting. The secretariat decided that only election-related matters should be discussed in the working committee, according to reports. State secretaries ET Muhammed Basheer and KNA Qader presented the draft of the programmes to be held till the Assembly elections. The representatives of different districts talked on the arrangements in each district for the election.
