IAMC elects its new leadership

Illinois: The Indian American Muslim Council (formerly Indian Muslim Council-USA) has announced its new national executive team that was selected unanimously by the IAMC Board of Directors. The new team took office on the New Year’s Day.

The new team includes: Shaheen Khatib, President (Teaneck, NJ), Khalid Azam, Vice President (San Jose, CA), Jawad Khan, Treasurer (Chicago, IL) and Zafar Haq, General Secretary (San Jose, CA).

Their two-year term of office is from Jan 1, 2011 to Dec 31st, 2012. The outgoing executives (Rasheed Ahmed, President, Dr. Hyder Khan, Vice President, Zubair Patel, Treasurer, Attaulla Khan, General Secretary) will continue to be part of the Board of Directors until April 2011 to ensure continuity and provide ongoing knowledge transfer.

The outgoing team has thanked the donors, volunteers, supporters and well wishers for their dedication, support and confidence in them during their tenure.
