New Delhi : A 65-year-old trader was found brutally murdered in a flat in east Delhi, police said Thursday. His bag containing Rs.6 lakh in cash was missing.

Pritam, a buffalo trader, came to a dairy farm in Ghazipur in east Delhi Wednesday evening on a business trip. He met farm owner Manzar Alam, and decided to stay overnight in a flat Manzar owned, a police officer said.

“Manzar’s younger brother Saharoj Alam went to meet Pritam at 11 p.m. but found the room locked from outside. He used a duplicate key to enter the room and found Pritam lying on the floor in a pool of blood,” the police officer said.

“He had been stabbed on the head with a sharp weapon and the three caretakers of the flat, Shankar, Mohan and Thakur are absconding. A bag belonging to the victim and containing Rs.6 lakh in cash was also missing,” the police officer said.

“We are suspecting the involvement of the trio in the killing and are questioning their family members,” the police officer said.
