Mumbai : The ministry of rural development has tied up with city-based security solutions company Topsgrup to provide professional security training to over 30,000 rural youths across India, an official said Thursday.
“The fast-paced growth of the security industry in India is creating a huge demand for talented resources. To meet the burgeoning demand, we have an enormous human resource talent pool in rural India waiting to be tapped,” Topsgrup’s managing director (India) Ramesh Iyer said.
The Topsgrup International Security Academy (TISA) will train more than 30,000 rural youth living below the poverty line across the country to enable them to earn their livelihood. Nabard Consultancy Services has been appointed as the as the pass-through and monitoring agency of the project.
The ministry has identified districts in various states with the maximum concentration of people living below the poverty line for the implementation of the project.
These states include Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal, Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.
The project is based on the rural development ministry’s public private partnership (PPP) model.
