Momin Conference lambasts Ali Anwar Ansari for his silence on Forbesganj killings

By Mumtaz Alam Falahi, TwoCircles.net,

Patna: Momin Conference, Bihar has lambasted Member of Rajya Sabha, Ali Anwar Ansari, for remaining silent on the Forbesganj police killings. Ansari, leader of the ruling Janata Dal (United), is considered an eminent leader of backward groups particularly Ansaris of the Muslim community and very close to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. All the victims of the June 3 firing were from the same group.

“He should have raised the issue strongly, but he did not utter a word on the Forbesganj firing. Still he claims to be leader of Ansaris and Muslims,” says Mohd Arif Ansari, General Secretary, Momin Conference, Bihar. He is close to the CM. Had he raised the issue strongly, the CM must have taken action, adds Arif.

In an interview with TwoCircles.net, Mohd Arif Ansari talked on various aspects of the June 3 Forbesganj police killings:–

Conspiracy against Muslims
The June 3 police firing is more serious an issue than just killing of four persons. Earlier also four Muslims were killed in police firing in neighboring Kursakanta village. These are not just incidents, rather part of a well-thought out conspiracy to down the morale of the Muslim community. They are targeting poor Muslims first. Ultimately they want to turn it into a Gujarat. But the Muslim leaders are not taking it seriously. The role of Urdu press is also condemnable.

Attitude of Muslim leaders/organizations
There is a growing dangerous trend among Muslim leaders and organizations. They are running after posts and perks from the government. They eye benefits and facilities from the government. They want seat in Legislative Council or Rajya Sabha, and that’s why they want to be in the good book of the ruling party and chief minister. They are not talking about justice and rights of the Muslims. They are just appeasing the government. This is a very dangerous trend.

Caste leaders also have an eye on government posts and privileges. They are not bothered about what is happening with Muslims or what has happened with Forbesganj Muslims.

Momin Conference on Forbesganj
Momin Conference in collaboration with some other Muslim groups took out a march in the state capital Patna. We are going to visit Forbesganj along with some Muslim organizations. We will also meet the CM and if our demands are not met, we will be forced to hit street.
