Islamabad: Pakistan has approved 15 infrastructure projects at a cost of a whopping Rs.154.52 billion.
The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council approved the 15 projects of national importance, reported Associated Press of Pakistan. Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh chaired committee meeting that was held here Friday.
The projects are in the energy, transport and communications, agriculture, food, industry, commerce, water resources, science and technology and information technology sectors.
The projects had been recommended by the Planning Commission.
The minister directed the authorities concerned to ensure transparency so that the projects do not fall prey to unnecessary litigation and objections.
