Pakistan fast slipping into chaos: Imran

By IANS,

Islamabad : Pakistan, in the absence of “basic governance”, was fast slipping into complete chaos, cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has said.

Imran, also the founder chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, said the recent spate of killings in Quetta and Karachi were alarming and a “direct consequence of the misgovernance that has paralysed law enforcement agencies”, the Daily Times quoted him as saying.

He said it seemed there was no government in Pakistan to protect the life and property of citizens, and people have been left at the mercy of criminals and terror outfits “backed by political elements”, he said.

Even the media and the judiciary were under attack, Imran alleged.

He said the country needs united efforts to remove the present “rogue government”, but the opposition political parties were “masquerading” and were content with making mere speeches and releasing condemnation statements.

Imran said his party was mobilising people on the streets and would soon be conducting demonstrations during the holy moth of Ramadan.
