Ranchi : A landmine, planted near the road in Jharkhand’s Garwah district, was recovered Friday, police said.

According to police, a 25-kg landmine was recovered from Balekhera jungle after villagers informed police about it.

The landmine was later defused.

In another development, Maoists Friday set on fire a goods-laden truck at Ketasuti village of the same district on Friday. Refusal by a local businessman, who owned the goods, to pay the “levy” was said to be the reason Maoists set the truck on fire.

In last three days, the rebels have torched 12 trucks in three districts of the state.
