Lucknow: Husainabad and Allied Trust (HAT) has invited the applications for ‘Badshah Mohammad Ali Shah Scholarship Scheme’ for the academic session 2011-2012.
Secretary of HAT and Additional District Magistrate (ADM), OP Pathak informed: “This scholarship scheme is for the students of Shia community but they should be a resident of the Awadh region too. The proforma of the application forms would be available at HAT’s office at Picture Gallery as well as at the office of district Minority Welfare Officer of all 21 districts coming in the Awadh region from 21 June. They should submit forms latest by 20 July.”
He added that the scholarship would be given to 50 meritorious as well as economically unstable students who are passed with minimum 60 percent marks in class 10 and class 12.
He stated that scholarship would be given to those students who have passed class 10 and whose family income is less than Rs 75000 where in case of family income of the students passed class 12 should be less than Rs 1,05,000. “Class 10 passed student will be given Rs 500 per month and one time payment of Rs 5000 for purchasing books whereas class 12 passed students will be getting Rs 750 per month and one time payment of Rs 7500 for purchasing books. Adding to it, class 12 passed studying technical, medical and management education would be given Rs 1250 per month and one time payment of Rs 7500 for purchasing books,” he added.
It may be noted that all the students who were selected for scholarship last year would be getting scholarship this year too if they have scored 55 percent in the class they are studying. For that they will have to produce a certificate from the head of the institution where they are studying that they have scored more than 55 percent marks. Earlier, a total of Rs 6 lakh was spent in the distribution of scholarship and this time it would double to Rs 12 lakh.
