“We have received two copies of the report, of which one has been sent to the Election Commission in Delhi and the other has been handed over to Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Zutsi who is here on a four-day tour,” said Additional Chief Electoral Officer N.K. Sahana.

“We don’t have any idea regarding the contents of the report as the copies sent to us were enclosed in sealed envelopes,” he said.

The poll panel had asked the state government to conduct an inquiry into the alleged violation of code of conduct by the minister after complaints were received that Dasgupta had signed hundreds of files even after the announcement of the election dates March 1.
