Chennai: The following is the timeline of the Congress-DMK feud over seat sharing for the Tamil Nadu elections:

Feb 21: DMK-Congress hold first round of seat sharing talks. DMK shocked over Congress demand for 90 of 234 seats and a share in power.

Feb 25: Second round of talks ends.

March 2: Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad in Chennai for talks. Stalemate continues.

March 3: Azad leaves for Delhi cancelling his scheduled meeting with Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

March 3: DMK offers 60 seats to Congress.

March 5: DMK angry as Congress seeks 63 seats of its choice. DMK announces snapping of ties with Congress and quits the UPA government.

March 6: Talks begin between Congress, DMK leaders.

March 8: DMK concedes 63 seats to Congress. Alliance saved.
