Tokyo : A fire broke out at a nuclear power plant in Japan’s Miyagi prefecture after an 8.9-magnitude earthquake struck the northeastern part of the country Friday, Xinhua reported.
The turbine building of Onagawa nuclear power plant caught fire following the quake that also triggered tsunami as high as 10 metres.
At least 18 people were killed and over 100 injured in the massive quake.
