Complaint against Gilani’s pilots for smoking in public

By IANS,

Chandigarh : A police complaint was filed Wednesday against the pilots of Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s special aircraft for smoking in public.

In his complaint, city-based social activist Hemant Goswami asked the police to take action against the Pakistan Air Force pilots and Indian officials who failed to inform them about the ban in smoking in public places.

“Wing Commander Asim and Flying Officer Waqas, who were photographed smoking at the UT (union territory) guest house, are guilty under COPTA (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act 2003),” said Goswami.

“Whoever voluntarily vitiates the atmosphere in any place shall be punished with a fine which may extend to Rs.500,” he added.

In the past too Goswami had complained against various Bollywood stars and celebrities for flouting this law.
