New Delhi : Delhi’s plan outlay of Rs.15,133 crore for 2011-12 was finalised Wednesday after a meeting between Planning Commission’s Deputy Commissioner Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
Nearly 62 percent of the the plan will be financed by the Delhi government’s resources, while another 11 percent will come from small saving loans, Dikshit said. The rest will be financed by the central government.
The chief minister said that 58 percent of the outlay would be for social sector, including 25 percent for transport and 14 percent for urban development and housing.
Medical and public health services will receive 13 percent of the funds while supply and sanitation will get 12 percent, she added.
Ahluwalia also invited the Delhi government for detailed discussions on a long-term water management programme for the city.
“Such discussions, in the presence of environment and forest experts, will help in early taking of acceptable decisions,” he said.
The chief minister also announced schemes to be launched this year, including a scholarship for students belonging to the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and minorities.
