New Delhi : A Nepali woman and an Uttar Pradesh man were arrested and hashish worth Rs.35 lakh and heroin worth Rs.27.5 lakh were recovered from them in two separate incidents in Delhi, police said Saturday.
Raheema Khatun, 35, was arrested from Nangloi area of west Delhi Saturday with around 30 kg of hashish worth Rs.35 lakh, police said.
“Khatun belongs to Nepal and was residing with her husband in Bihar. We are suspecting that she might have brought the drugs from Nepal to sell them in Delhi,” a police official said.
In the other incident, Ashraf Khan, 22, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, was arrested Wednesday from Rohini in north Delhi where he had come to deliver heroin worth Rs.27.5 lakh to a contact person, said police.
“We recovered 275 gram of heroin from the accused who disclosed that he purchased it from a person in Bareilly,” a police official said.
