London: A dog that accompanied US commandos on the mission to kill Osama bin Laden inside Pakistan had surgically-attached metal teeth strong enough to bite into a bulletproof vest.
The Belgian Shepherd, named “Malinois”, was reportedly lowered into the mansion where the Al Qaeda chief was hiding in Pakistan’s Abbottabad city, The Sun reported.
US special forces swooped into Abbottabad on board stealth helicopters and killed Osama May 2.
Top officials said the dog had titanium teeth that could even pierce a bulletproof vest.
Dogs trained for special forces’ missions are equipped with infrared night-vision cameras and armoured vests. They even have gas masks to ward off chemical attacks.
Major Wes Ticer, spokesman for the US Special Operations Command, however, refused to comment.
