Gurgaon: On a hot and humid morning Wednesday, Piyush Sangwan, just 13 years of age and playing in B category, was leading in the A & B combined category at the Toyota Etios Haryana Juniors Open golf championship.
The greens were slow on the windy and hot morning but Sangwan handled the challenging links-type golf course at the Golden Green Resort very well. He carded the only sub-par round of the day with a two-under 70 that gave him a total of 145.
Category A was led by Rohan Sharma (74-72) and he was overall second behind Piyush (75-70). Piyush is topping category B, while in Category C, Arjun Prasad (86-74) was on top and in Category D, it was Karan Pratap Singh with 77.
Among girls, Gurbani Singh (78-74) was leading Category A and Aditi Ashok (78-76) was on top in Category B. In Category C for girls, the best show was from Suchitra Ramesh (83-86).
