Another quiet start for Indian equities markets

Mumbai: Indian equities markets Thursday started off on a quiet note again, having ended lacklustre the previous day.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) which opened at 18,525.32 points, was ruling at 18,530.27 points, down 54.69 points or 0.29 percent from its previous close at 18,584.96 points.

The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also trading weak at 5,546.25 points, down 0.34 percent.

Broader markets too were ruling flat with the BSE midcap index ruling 0.04 percent up and the BSE smallcap index up 0.09 percent.
