New Delhi : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday congratulated AIADMK leader J. Jayalalithaa for her party’s thumping victory in the Tamil Nadu assembly polls.
“The prime minister called up Jayalithaa and congratulated her,” a spokesman in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said.
With the AIADMK-led front winning 204 of the 234 seats in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, Jayalalithaa is all set to become the chief minister for the third time.
The state went to the polls April 13 and the results were announced friday.
