New Delhi : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley Tuesday slammed the home ministry for the goof-up in the list of most wanted fugitives given to Pakistan, calling it the “maximum level of incompetency”.
“Home ministry has risen to the maximum level of incompetence,” Jaitley told reporters.
“It is a monumental lapse, which has caused an embarrassment for the whole country. The fact that Pakistan is sheltering terrorists is well-known, the incompetence of one official has caused the whole country embarrassment,” Jaitley said.
The BJP leader also demanded that those responsible for the lapse be held accountable.
“For this level of incompetence which embarrassed the whole country, somebody must be held accountable,” he added.
A list of 50 most wanted fugitives allegedly hiding in Pakistan included the name of Wazhul Qamar Khan, who lives in Thane close to Mumbai. The home ministry has ordered a probe into the matter.
