New Delhi: The National Advisory Council Friday placed in the public domain the draft Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence (Access to Justice and Reparations) Bill, prepared by its working group, for comments.
According to a NAC press release, comments may be sent by June 4 by e-mail at [email protected] or by post.
The working group had presented its draft bill to the NAC in Arpil. The NAC is headed by United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
One of the key guiding principles of the bill is the need for an independent national authority to ensure effective compilance with the law without disturbing India’s federal structure.
